Activision has issued a statement by apologizing for the content in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies considered insensitive to the Muslim community. According to Activision, the content, which showed a broken copy of the Koran on the ground, was added by mistake and since then it was deleted.
Activision did not enter into details about how the content was included by mistake, but it did note that it is taking immediate measures at an internal level to address the situation and avoid this type of events in the future. It is not clear what exactly means this.
« Obligations is made for everyone. There was insensitive content to the Muslim community that was missed last week, and since then it has been eliminated from the game, it is read in the statement. I should never have appeared as he did in the game. We apologize deeply. We are taking immediate measures at an internal level to address the situation and prevent this type of events in the future.
