The latest data published by the GFK market analysis firm reveal that during the month of February more than 93,000 consoles were sold in the United Kingdom, being Nintendo Switch the great winning. This figure, however, is a fall of 24% compared to last January. The three platforms (PlayStation, Xbox and Switch) were affected by this, mainly due to stock problems, although in the case of the new generation consoles of Microsoft the figures are higher than in February last year. In the case of Nintendo Switch, sales of the month of February are 30% lower than February 2021. However, GFK also points to being significantly higher than February 2019 and February 2020, before of the pandemic. In general terms, sales of consoles in the United Kingdom have fallen 33.4% in what we have of year. According to analysts, the main reason is the stock shortage of PlayStation 5.
