Marvel's expansive comic book universe allows for multiple storylines and villains to tie together without much trouble. However, when we talk about the MCU, things get a bit complicated. Thanks to Sony owning the rights to Spider-Man and his characters on the big screen, it's very rare to hear any reference to elements like the Symbiote, other than a mention of Peter Parker. However, it looks like this is about to change, and it's all thanks to Thor: Love and Thunder.
In the new Thor movie we can see Gorr, a villain who uses the Necrosword as a tool of destruction. Although its origin is not mentioned in the movie, it is revealed in the King in Black comic that this weapon was created by Knull, the God of Symbiotes. To remember, symbiotes are a kind of alien parasites, and its most famous member is Venom, one of Spider-Man's main enemies.
Although details about how much Marvel Studios may use in its movies are scarce, remember that at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home we saw a small Venom symbiote remain in the MCU universe. While the relationship between the Necrosword and the Symbiotes is pretty clear in the comics, this is likely to be a topic that doesn't get cleared up in the Marvel movies, at least for now.
In related topics, here's what happens at the end of Thor: Love and Thunder. Similarly, the model brings Mighty Thor to life with this cosplay.
Editor's Note :
Although it would be great if the terms, concepts and characters of Spider-Man can be used in the MCU, to avoid problems with Sony, they have surely chosen to leave interesting information aside. Hopefully this will change in the future, but for now the Necrosword is just a magic sword and that's it.
