Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires: Release

Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force announced new information on the Tokyo Game Show 2021 and the release date of Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires.

The strategic camphor experience will be published on 15 February 2022 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Digital for PlayStation 5 (free upgrade from the PlayStation-4 version available).

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires combines the 1-vs. 1,000 action by Dynasty Warriors with tactical elements and puts players in the old China.

The fighting has changed greatly compared to earlier titles of the series thanks to the storming-the-castle features. The areas around the castles, the battlefields and skirmishers develop into those storming-the-castle fights where the players fight for the control of the castle.

Each Secret Plan has its own conditions for success or failure. As soon as the criteria are met, beneficial effects for the allies are activated, for example Capture Surrounding Bases , Defeat Messengers , Escort the Engineers and many more.

Each battle has phases of attack and defense in which the Secret Plans can be used differently. On the other hand, opponents can use this tactical means. However, the SECRET plans of the opponent can also be prevented.

Army affinity will also play an important role in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, as each officer unit is assigned to a military unit type.

The three types each have strengths and weaknesses: infantry <archers <cavalry <infantry. If a unit fights against an opponent, which is the disadvantage, it can share more damage and reduce the damage suffered.

However, if a unit fights against opponents with disadvantages, the situation turns around. In addition, every military unit has its own special effects: Infantry can attack siege weapons more effective, cavalry can cause more harm to the opposing headquarters and archists can perform simultaneous attacks.

In addition to the fighting, the political intrigues and the domestic system known from the Empires series will also be included. The kingdoms try to unite China each.

The goals are updated every half year. Every month, players can provide commands to seek new officers for the kingdom, buy arrows and items and perform a variety of military, economic and diplomatic commands - depending on the player s rank.
